My Scrapbook Room

Hi friends! After last Tuesday's SBLS, I received a few emails about my scrapbook room. As promised, I'm posting a few pictures here. Just keep in mind that most everything in my scrapbook space is what works for me and may not necessarily work for you. In fact, I'm still working on this room. My room is simple - nothing fancy - so don't expect too much :) With that disclaimer, LOL, here's my room...

Since I have a small area, I tried to make good use of vertical space - for example, carts and paper racks are stacked up high, and I used the wall right behind where I sit to store tools and some products on pegboard. I have some pictures of the pegboard below. My friend Heather White has a walk-in closet of pegboard for her scrapbook stuff - so cool!Sb_room

Left to Right. Black Iris carts (from Staples): I took the tops off of 2 carts and stacked 3 on top of each other. These hold my stamps, punches and other supplies. White 12x12 Paper carts (from The Container Store): I took the wheels off and stacked 3 carts on top of each other. Most of my 12x12 papers are stored in these and most are categorized by manufacturer, for example: Chatterbox patterned paper, Bazzill cardstock, Prism cardstock. Not every one likes having their papers stored in closed containers. I sometimes sit on my bed, the floor, or go to the kitchen to do a little scrapbooking, so I like being able to grab a box of patterned paper and bring it with me to choose papers for a project. 12x12 Paper racks (from Memories): These racks are okay for storing cardstock. Baskets and photoboxes (from Michaels): I store embellishments in these baskets and boxes. Large pink boxes and large blue striped boxes (from Pottery Barn Kids): I store my comic books in the pink boxes and I store my Ellison and its accessories in the large blue boxes. Bookshelves and file box folders (from Target): The folders are in the bookshelf right below the blue stripe boxes on the right. I store receipts, contracts, etc. in these. Table and chair: Ikea. I'll be replacing these eventually, but it works if you're on a budget. 8.5x11 Paper racks (not shown, from Office Depot).

Here's the wall right behind where I sit. Pegboard, hardware, and fasteners (from Home Depot): If you're going to hang heavy items then I recommend buying fasteners, which secure the hardware to the pegboard. Hopefully, the pictures below will give you an idea of the hooks and fasteners I used.

Pegboard

Spining_caddy

Spinning caddy (from Pottery Barn Kids): My husband discovered this at PB Kids last Summer and got it for me :) It's hard to find these now but definitely worth the effort if you can find one. It sits on my table where I scrapbook. I like keeping certain tools, adhesives, and anything I frequently use, within arm's reach. The labels on this caddy are very helpful because I know in a glance where to put away each item when I'm done.

Ribbon_spools_1_1Clear containers (from QVC): I use these clear hinged boxes to store my large spools of ribbon.

Ribbon_3Floss containers (from Joanns): I posted this a few months ago but I thought I'd include it here for those who may not have seen that post. For my ribbon remnants (usually a yard or less), I wrap them on paper spools and store them in floss boxes like this one. Each floss box comes with plenty of paper spools, and if you need to remember the manufacturer of your different ribbons, just write right on the paper spool.

On another day, I'll show you a few personal things in my scrapbook room that keep me happy as I scrapbook. Have a wonderful week! God bless!

Yippee! Thanks for the inspiration - We are moving my "scrapbook room without walls" (aka hallway, which I love but have outgrown) into our office now! Which means - new built in cabinets, shelves, and...............peg board! I can't wait!

WOW!!! Love your room :)

Beautiful room, Leah! WOW!! I love how you have everything in its place. I also love how you have the CBX art paper in the basket stored upright. Sadly, I think mine are still in the original shipping box from Idaho stuffed in my scraproom closet! *blush* I need to take some cues from you and organize my space, too! By the way - your organizational articles have been my very favorite BHG articles yet. LOVE them! So glad you shared with us~~

I cannot believe I have known you this long and this is the first glimpse of your scrap space!! :) I love it. I really love that peg board. I so need one of those, but I don't know if I've got room for one!! LOVE it though - all this stuff looks so perfect! :) TFS!

Wow, you are so organized. Your scraproom looks so enviable!!
